August 2024 - Network Meeting

It was a fab end-of-summer online meetup with another amazing group of women Own My Life facilitators.  Many of you will be starting new Own My Life courses in September so we’ve prepared THIS sheet with some helpful pointers to get you started and feeling ready to go. We do hope you find it useful!

Two things we discussed at this network meeting:

1. TRAFFIC LIGHTS

   We spoke about how the way these were run (especially for in-person groups) and that the scenarios had been adapted by different facilitators to suit their group eg. more scenarios dealing with court proceedings Please do keep letting us know what worked for you as we love hearing how things have been adapted to achieve the best for women.

   
   

2. GROUP AGREEMENT - it can be so useful to refer women back to when, for example; a woman is getting upset, there’s conflict, or the discussions are getting lengthy and we’re running out of time to complete all the content in the session in time. When doing the group agreement with the women in Session 1, we can seek everyone's permission to interrupt in such scenarios, explaining that this is so that all of the group can benefit from the content in the rest of the sections. We all want to support everyone getting the most out of the course. so everyone can usually accept this being included in the agreement. This can be handily referred back to when moving things on in later sessions.
