Own My Life Celebrates Sisterhood, Growth and a Bright Future at Team and Trustee Weekend

A special weekend of connection, learning and big ambitions brings the Own My Life community together as the charity looks ahead to an exciting new chapter.
There was plenty to celebrate as Own My Life brought our people together for a special Team and Trustee weekend away and Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Boston, Lincolnshire.
Since the charity began in 2019, this was our third weekend away, but the first time the wider Own My Life team were invited to join the gathering. It was a significant and joyful milestone, creating precious space for sisterhood, shared learning, strategic thinking and collective growth.

The setting was certainly memorable. The team gathered in a beautiful and wonderfully quirky house featuring a Swedish sun room, a glowing ice room, a pirate ship room and even a fully equipped yoga room. It was a unique space for a group of women united by a shared passion: enabling women to own their lives.
Although circumstances meant that the majority of Trustees joined our AGM via Zoom, this did little to diminish the sense of connection and purpose. Bringing so many members of the Own My Life team together in person was a joy, offering an opportunity to strengthen relationships, reflect on the charity's journey so far and look towards the future with renewed energy and ambition.
The weekend was thoughtfully facilitated by Karen Ferguson of the Maven Club, whose characteristic warmth, grace and passion helped create an environment where everyone could contribute, connect and think boldly about what comes next.

There was also time to slow down and reconnect with ourselves. Own My Life co-trainer Louise Bryant led a Yin Yoga session, offering a welcome opportunity for rest, reflection and restoration amid the busy programme. And, ensuring everyone was well looked after throughout, Baggy Collins kept the team fed and watered, to ensure everyone else (the women!) could focus on the work, rather than the washing up.
More than simply a chance to spend time together, the weekend was an opportunity to nurture relationships, ideas and the shared vision which underpin Own My Life's work. It created room to celebrate how far we have come since 2019, consider the opportunities ahead and begin shaping the next stage of our development.
And there is plenty to look forward to!
Our Own My Life team have some big, beautiful plans in the pipeline, with the hope that these will enable many more women to access the support, tools and opportunities they need to own their lives.

We are so grateful to everyone who joined the weekend, whether in person or online, and to all those who contributed their time, care, energy and expertise to making it such a meaningful gathering.
As Own My Life continues to grow, one thing remains at the heart of our work: the belief that women deserve the opportunity to shape their own futures. With stronger connections, renewed inspiration and exciting plans taking shape, the charity is looking ahead with hope, determination and a shared commitment to making that vision a reality.
Here's to the next chapter of Own My Life; and to enabling many more women to own their lives.
